What do you learn on a graphic design course?

Have you ever wondered what a course in graphic design would cover?

Well we have a designer who studied at Loughborough College of Art and Design who has told us that it was a very intense course. They covered many graphic design processes and theories that are now used everyday. A lot of work was covered and not just how to use the Adobe packages - most of that came later and he is still learning!

Modules included, but weren't limited to:
• Logo design
• Branding
• Colour
• Typefaces
• Typography
• Composition
• Scale and spacing
• Using grids
• Illustrating
• 2D and 3D understanding
• Photography
• Design in everyday objects
• Perspective

Remember, keep a portfolio of everything you do. Prospective employers and clients are always keen to see what you have done and help them understand how you can help them.
